Talha Abdel-Rahman Scholarship Fund

Talha was a beloved son, student, friend and community member who tragically passed away. He will be remembered by all who knew him for his ever present smile and his antics that we were all fond of. As a continuous charity, sadaqah jariyah, for him, we have created a scholarship fund in his name that we will award scholarships to Muslim students from.

All donations to this fund are tax-credit eligible, so you will receive all of the money you donate back as a dollar-for-dollar tax credit based on your tax liability. If you have not made your tax credit donation yet, this is the perfect time to do so as it comes at no cost to you and now it will also count as a sadaqah for our beloved brother, may Allāh ﷻ have mercy on him.

Note -When making a donation, you will be asked to cover fees and add a tip (as seen below) to the free platform we use to fundraise and process payments. You may select to not cover fees and set the tip to $0 if you would prefer not to make an additional donation to them.

How It Works

Determine How Much You Can Contribute

You may contribute your total Arizona tax liability, up to the amounts shown above. Your liability is your taxable income multiplied by your tax rate, and is usually paid through payroll withholding and tax credits.

Make Your Tax Credit Contribution

Give securely online with the link above or send us a check after completing the form above. You can also donate over phone by calling us at (602) 800-9588. We love speaking to our generous donors and thanking them personally.

Claim Your State
Tax Credit

You will be emailed a receipt acknowledging your gift. Tax credits are easily reported on AZ Forms 301, 323, and 348. If you have a CPA or file yourself using software, just provide the amount donated and the receipt.

How Much Can I Contribute?

To determine how much you can contribute, you can estimate your tax liability based on your previous years tax return. Scroll down to Arizona Form 140 and look at line 48. The dollar amount there is how much you owed in taxes last year and may be a close approximation of how much you owe this year. If it is higher than the limits ($1,307 single/$2,609 married) mentioned above, you can donate up to the limit. If it is below that, you can donate the amount owed. You will receive all of it back as a dollar-for-dollar tax credit in your tax refund.
